It should be based on squad leadership skill, similar to EVE. Maybe it starts at four at level 1 and goes up to twelve at level 5. Squads should be organized by role, so a tank crew would be a squad of 3, while an infantry squad could be 8-10 or so.

They need guns to help clear the drop/pickup zone and to support troops after they're on the ground. The only problem really is that missile turrets are overpowered vs infantry.

Just go play another game if you don't want vehicles to be a factor. I'd be fine with having more terrain that limits their effectiveness, but there shouldn't be a "no vehicles" mode any more than there should be a " no heavies" or "no shotguns" ...

Maybe missiles should require a locking before firing (lockon once then hold to fire as long as you want). Then tie lockon speed to signature size. It would definitely make them less "spammy" and make them feel more like missiles instead of rocket...

I think missile turrets are the main problem. I think they need a lock on, and the lock on time should be based on signature radius. Right now they don't have a niche like blasters or rail guns...they're just superior to every other weapon.
